To All
With the economy the way it is, we seem to have more people asking for quotes. Most likely they are getting quotes from other dealers as well and comparing pricing. That's OK with us BUT it would be helpful to us if you let us know you're comparing prices. Our pricing includes our checking over the guns before they ever go on the shelf. We check the blueing, the wood, mount a scope and test shoot the gun and clean it before it goes on the shelf. We reject about 5% of the guns due to that pre-sale checkup and it takes about 30 minutes per gun to do. Other dealers never even open a box to check the gun at all and one dealer even charges $19 just to look at the gun. They don't test fire it...just look at it. So my point is that if a buyer wants to compare our pricing to that of another dealer, let us know and we'll quote a little lower price for a gun that we have NOT checked over to keep things equal to other dealers. If a buyer wants the extra service and checkup the price is likely not going to be discounted. We can't afford to go the extra nine yards and then give the gun away at a discount. Some guys might find that important and others won't but at least it'll keep things level with other dealer quotes. So let us know that you're pricing around because we'd like a shot at your business also but would like to quote what other dealers are offering in their quotes. Just an FYI.
We don't charge a higher price for that check-up but we'd like to avoid discounting a gun that's we've spent time on.
