which one would you buy for hunting a hw80/ r1 22cal or air arms prosport .22 ?

Wow, tough call....you picked the right 2 to choose from though. Throw in an R9 in that decision and you've got one of the toughest decisions to make in airgunning, lol. The Prosport is probably going to balance better on offhand shots(even though it is about a lbs. heavier to lug around in the field though), look nicer with both a nicer bluing and nicer stock and shoot with more of a 'tuned' shot cycle and feel out of the box. The R1 is going to give you around 2 ft. lbs. more energy at the muzzle and make reloading for followup shots a bit quicker because of the break-barrel action. If the R1 gets tuned, it will be the equal rival to the Prosport in smoothness and probably even in the accuracy department. Tough call, you've got 2 winners picked out from the top of the heap and you'll be delighted i'm sure no matter which one you get.

Two very good rifles but if you're left handed go for the R1. Left handed Prosports seem few and far between.

Parallax, don't really matter long as you can shoot well. We just got an R1 and I'm really lovin'
the thing in .20.
